Our Story
It all started with two ventilation contractors from the Québec City area, faced with a very real challenge on a job site: they needed to conceal an HVAC unit installed on the roof of a commercial building, in compliance with a new zoning by-law introduced by the City of Québec. The regulation required that any rooftop mechanical equipment—such as a ventilation, air conditioning, or heating system—be hidden behind a permanent, opaque visual screen with an exterior finish matching that of the main building.
The solutions available on the market at the time had many shortcomings: bulky internal structures, sliding panels that were unstable in windy conditions and prone to freezing in winter, complex installation processes, limited flexibility, and most critically, attachment methods that compromised the waterproofing of HVAC units.
This very real issue inspired the idea to develop a more efficient solution. That’s how Vision ES was born—an enterprise dedicated to designing and manufacturing innovative architectural screens for rooftop mechanical equipment.
